Kenyan based Burundi singer emerged the Best East African Artiste at the just concluded Kilimanjaro Music Awards in which Sean Kingstone was the guest artiste. Kidum became the best East African artiste for his song which he did with Uganda's Juliana Kanyomozi.
The awards which were in Dar-es-salaam set tongues wagging as there was no Kenyan on the nomination list and the only person close to it was Kidum who stays in Kenya but from Burundi.
On calling his name for the award, he was no where not even close to Dar to pick his accolade. The event has been enjoyed by Kenyan artistes in the last two years. Kidum learnt of the news from the various fans who were calling him over the won title.
He equally expressed his concern over the organizers who did not consider the award for the Kenyan artistes. The Kisima Awards are the only Awards in the region recognising artistes after Uganda's PAM Awards and Kenya's Kisima Awards have taken a break.
